Gauging Interest: Quintana Roo Tech & Cavern Trip (March 2027?) ![]()
I just got back from an absolutely epic week of diving in Cozumel and the cenotes around Playa del Carmen, and it immediately got me thinking… this would make a killer ScubaMUDs group trip.
So before I go too far down the rabbit hole planning something, I want to gauge interest.
Idea:
A ScubaMUDs trip to Quintana Roo, Mexico – March/April 2027 focused on tech training and/or cavern diving, with some fun open-water dives mixed in.
I was diving with AquaTech Diving (thank you again Sean-Douglas Brand for some amazing dives this week! video coming soon for the group) and they run excellent programs for things like:
• Cavern Diver
• Intro to Tech / Fundamentals style training
• Advanced Nitrox / Decompression Procedures
• Trimix (for those going further down the rabbit hole)
And of course… cenote diving for those who just want mind-blowing cavern dives without committing to a course.
Possible structure (very rough idea right now):
• Base ourselves around Playa del Carmen
• Cenote diving and cavern/tech training days
• Optional Cozumel day trips for big-water reef diving
• Mix of training + fun dives so non-tech divers could still join
This would still be very casual planning at this stage — just seeing who might be interested so I know whether it’s worth organizing something.
If this sounds interesting to you, drop a comment with:
Interested / Maybe / Just curious
Training you might want (cavern, AN/DP, intro tech, etc.)
Whether you’d bring a partner/non-diver
If enough people are keen, I’ll start looking at timing, rough costs, and accommodation options.
Fair warning: after diving the cenotes this week… it’s hard to stop thinking about going back. ![]()
