My diving career started shortly after I turned 50. I was on vacation in Bali, Indonesia, where I enrolled in a discover scuba course. My second ever open water scuba experience was on the world-famous USS Liberty Shipwreck. I was instantly addicted.

I went home to Alberta, where I completed my Open Water Certification. I made plans to go to Thailand the next spring, but Covid reared its ugly head, forcing me to change course. I wasn’t set back for long though. I used the money I’d been saving and purchased all my gear, and then I drove to Nanaimo and completed my Advanced Open Water training there.

My first 60 dives were logged near Windfield, Alberta at Twin Lake. It is a small lake, about 30 metres deep, very cold ~4-6*C, with very limited visibility. It made for some chilly dives rocking a 2 piece 7mm wetsuit!

In addition to diving in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Campbell River, and Port Hardy, I’ve logged dives in Florida, California, The Philippines, Sipadan, Roatan, Utila, La Paz, Cozumel, and most recently Tulum Mexico where I achieved my Cavern and Intro to Cave Certifications.

My future training plans will be my Divemaster course in The Philippines in January of 2025, and to finish my full cave training in Tulum in September of 2025. I’m looking forward to logging as much practice and underwater time I can get before starting these challenging courses.

Hit me up. Let’s Go Diving!
